Principal in all three schools very available to students. (Though didnt't seem to know them - just for camera??)
In all 3 the Principal had autonomy with hire/fire. Are Principal's views always the best - firing those who don't agree?

Impact on student engagement:
Students were engaged - listened to
Driven to the NAPLAN tests, scores - Is this 21st Century learning?
Pre/post testing so kids can see if they have individually improved.
Classroom environment - feedback for teachers
Relationships with teachers - the teachers care about me - improve results by increasing relationships/rapport so kids want to put in the effort. The relationships are the underlying reason for improving/engaging the students. Students trusted the teachers to help them.
Better facilities - surroundings. No ownership of areas by teachers at NDC since not within the school (up in our ivory tower?)eg math rooms with teacher offices close by.
Are we more open to teacher mentoring now? Mentoring as part of allotment.
Get together more re how we will teach the unit. Time to get together for this?
Student feedback at end of units?
Catch up learning - two years learning into one at Hume. How did they do this? Withdrawal?
Structured regular teaching program for teachers. Is this appraisal? What about collaborative approach rather than mentoring. Collaboration could entail goals. Peer support with teacher goals. Visit other teachers' classes to see/learn from other staff. Student reaction to having extra staff member? Student feedback needed.
Number of classes students miss? Blocking - students have a day off to do their extra-curricular work/activities.

The data shows we're doing better than English!!!!!!!!!
If they could read they would be able to do the higher order questions!!!!!!!!
